His hands, though weathered by age, remained steady and sure, capable of creating objects of such delicate beauty that even the wealthy merchants from distant cities would travel to purchase his work. Baa-san, the grandmother, was renowned for her gentle nature and her skill in growing the most magnificent flowers. Her garden was a riot of color throughout the seasons, and neighbors often said that plants bloomed more brightly under her care than anywhere else.
